Gaye Adegbalola Weighs In On the CD!! - October 17, 2008
Gaye Adegbalola, internationally known for performing both with Sapphire-Uppity Blues Women and in a duo with pianist Roddy Barnes, has weighed in on "Blues Gonna Show the Way," Kim's CD. Gaye is a W.C. Handy award-winning songwriter. She writes:
"I've always said that gospel music mainly tells a story about salvation later on, while blues music is about salvation here and now. Kim has combined the two.
When you sing you pray twice; and when you sing your own song you pray thrice. Kim's songs are her prayers. She gives us permission to acknowledge our pain in song, to acknowledge our love in song. This is where she belongs. She shares her heart and a healing."
Thanks Gaye!!!
