Made My Heart a Home

by Kim Capps

Verse 1:

The hinges were so rusty,

on the door when you came in

and the window panes so dusty,

all the rooms were cold and dim

Some thought the place was locked up tight

key thrown away and gone

now the door is standing open

cos you have made my heart a home

Chorus:

Chocolates waiting on my pillow

and the porch light’s always on

whenever I am hungry,

there’s something cookin’ up hot

and simmering long

ooh, ooh Darlin’,  how did  you make my heart a home?

Verse 2:

Other tenants were evicted,

too many damages were done

now that curse seems to have lifted

can ‘t see the gray clouds for the sun

my plumbing had been breaking down,

now all my pipes are flowing well

even that old deserted bedroom

has got a tale to tell

mm, mm Darlin’ how do you love me o so well?

Repeat chorus

Instrumental solo

Chocolates waiting on my pillow

and the porch light’s always on

whenever I am hungry,

there’s something cookin’ up hot

and simmering long

mm mm  Darlin’, how did  you make my heart a home?

I tell you darling, Lord knows you made my heart a home
